Daniel Sherar M.DIV LCSW LCAC

Daniel has been practicing social work since 2001 and joined Compass Point in 2016. Previously, he has worked at Samaritan Center, Daviess Community Hospital, Daviess County Jail, and Maglinger Behavioral Health. As a Chaplain with the Indiana National Guard, he has been deployed to Bosnia and Iraq and served more than 30 years in the Army National Guard and Reserve. Daniel completed his M. Div at Anderson University in 1989, MSW at the University of Southern Indiana in 2001, and he earned a graduate certificate in Conflict Transformation at Eastern Mennonite University in 2011.  He is experienced in treating anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, depression, PTSD, substance use problems, other addictions, personality disorders, relationship communication issues, and other sources of distress. Daniel's practice includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, psycho-education, and a narrative approach. He works with adolescents and adults of any age. He and his wife Jana have two adult sons, Evan, and Luke.  

Heather Stevenson LCSW LCAC CCTP

Heather is a clinical social worker and clinical addictions counselor who is certified as a clinical trauma professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals. She has earned Dr. Karyl McBride’s Level I WIEBGE certification, which guides her work with daughters of narcissistic mothers. Heather has completed training through the American Academy of Grief Counseling and Institute for Integrative Nutrition, and she has earned  a certificate in nutritional psychology through John F. Kennedy University. She received her Master of Social Work degree from Indiana University in 2011 and has worked in community mental health, residential care, private practice, and home-based therapy settings. Heather specializes in counseling women struggling with addictions, codependency, trauma, chronic pain/health concerns, perfectionism, shame, and family of origin issues, and she strives to empower her clients by utilizing a person centered, cognitive-behavioral approach. She provides all therapy through a HIPAA compliant virtual platform.
